What it is: Donating to CFUV’s Fundrive

Reaction: While working on this week’s feature, I had the pleasure of joining Andrea Wong, the host of my favourite CFUV show, Gumdrops & Lollipops during her annual Fundrive episode. I threw down my donation to support the station and you should do so too. Not only will you be helping the campus/community-radio station stay on air, but you’ll be helping them increase their range, as they shoot to raise $25,000 to go towards a more powerful transmitter. As a little added incentive, if you donate more than $25, you’ll be granted access to the Small Room of Big Prizes. After I made my donation, the door to this prize paradise was opened to me and I can tell you it’s certainly worth the $25! There’s all sorts of CDs, T-shirts, gift certificates and much more contained within. I took home the drone/doom goodness of Boris and Sunn0)))’s joint double-LP, Altar.

Would I try it again: Without a doubt, but next year, I hope to be asking you to donate to my own CFUV show once I get off my ass and start volunteering up there again.
